Description
Birley Fields Phase 2 accommodation is organised into five distinct ‘collegiate’ groups in courtyard form and these are used to define the external space and principal pedestrian routes into the campus. Walker Modular will provide all Bathroom Pods for this project for student bedrooms in townhouse and cluster flat format. This student residential scheme is part of the wider Birley Fields Campus which is centred on a major new academic development to the east of the site. As part of this final phase Manchester Metropolitan University will deliver 491 student apartments on the final plot of its Birley Fields masterplan which range between 16 and six storeys. The project features a series of connected blocks wrapping around the site’s perimeter. The tallest elevation will overlook Princess Road at 16 storeys, while the Stretford Road elevation will be the smallest at six storeys. The scheme is set to complete a two-year build programme in 2021.
