What is the typical lead time for a Walker Modular pod?
From signed prototype to first delivery is typically 14–20 weeks depending on volume and specification. We'll confirm a firm programme at design freeze.
Should I specify GRP or steel framed pods?
GRP pods are ideal for high-volume, repeatable schemes such as PBSA and hotels — seamless, easy to clean, and lightweight. Steel framed pods suit projects requiring tiled finishes, larger footprints or complex layouts such as BTR and residential.
How are pods delivered to site?
Pods are wrapped, stored under cover and delivered just-in-time. On site they're craned to floor and connected within hours. Most projects install 20–40 pods per day.
What manufacturing tolerances do you work to?
External dimensions are held to ±3mm and service connection points to ±5mm. Prototype sign-off confirms tolerances against your build-up before production begins.
What warranty do Walker Modular pods carry?
A 40-year structural warranty on the pod structure, plus a 12-year watertightness warranty on the pod envelope, and manufacturer warranties on all specified fittings. Full warranty documentation is issued at handover.
Can you match a specific architect's specification?
Yes. We regularly build to bespoke tile, sanitaryware, ironmongery and lighting specifications. Our sample pod stage exists to lock these details before production.
Are your pods suitable for healthcare projects?
Yes. We manufacture to HTM 64 / HBN 00-10 requirements including antimicrobial finishes, DDA-compliant layouts, and specialist drainage as required.
What sustainability credentials do the pods carry?
Factory manufacturing reduces on-site waste by up to 90%. Our facility runs on renewable electricity, and pods contribute to BREEAM Mat and Wst credits. See our Sustainability page.
