Travelodge introduces a new city centre hotel in Newcastle, providing 124 beds with a bar/café.

The hotel is a conversion of the former British Telecom office building on The Close overlooking the River Tyne next to the Swing Bridge. Walker Modular will provide all Bathroom Pods for this Travelodge to open Quayside hotel in Newcastle with a riverfront restaurant. The previous building has been empty for five years and Newcastle welcomes this project to put the building back into use. The development will include a restaurant and bar overlooking the Tyne which will have a first floor balcony to take advantage of the river views and is considered to be a good location for the proposed uses, having access to nearby city centre services and transport facilities.
