Walker Modular bathroom pods at Transport House, Dagenham

Transport House in Dagenham is a residential development delivered by Hollybrook, forming part of the continuing regeneration of the area in east London.

Walker Modular supplied factory-manufactured bathroom pods for the scheme. Each bathroom was completed within the factory — waterproofing, services, tiling and sanitaryware — and inspected before delivery.

For an apartment building with a repeating floorplate, manufacturing the bathrooms as complete units means the same specification is achieved in every apartment, rather than depending on multiple trades repeating the same work on every floor.

Pods were delivered to programme by Walker Modular's own fleet and drivers and installed floor by floor as the structure progressed, allowing following trades to move through the building without waiting on bathroom completion.

Each pod carried an individual digital quality record, providing traceability from manufacture through to handover.
