Walker Modular bathroom pods for The Store House, 140–142 Briggate, Leeds

The Store House at 140–142 Briggate is a city-centre redevelopment on one of Leeds' principal retail streets, bringing forward commercial space at ground level with new residential accommodation on the floors above.

Walker Modular is supplying factory-manufactured bathroom pods for the scheme. Each bathroom is built, fitted out and quality checked within Walker Modular's controlled factory environment before it is delivered to site as a complete unit.

Briggate is a pedestrianised, heavily trafficked city-centre street with restricted vehicle access and no meaningful storage space on site. Manufacturing the bathrooms off site removes a long sequence of wet trades from that environment and reduces the number of deliveries and trade movements the site has to absorb.

Deliveries are sequenced against the construction programme and managed by Walker Modular's own fleet and drivers, who are experienced in delivering into constrained city-centre sites.

Every pod carries its own digital quality record, giving the project individual traceability and photographic quality assurance records that remain available for the life of the asset.
